A terrifically engrossing book by Charles Sanders. The literature of this storied fighting force seems to grow by leaps and bounds, however this book has a slightly different bent. Along with a strict chronological history of how the ski troops came to be, how they trained, and how the fought, we have an in-depth look at three very different soldiers in the 10th. Rudy, Jake, and Ralph were killed in action. This is also one of the few books on the subject that actually questions some of the tactical decisions made by upper echelon leadership.
