The classic long distance marathons are routinely won with just double poling. Occasionally sprint courses are just won by double poling. However, now a tough, 15k, Norwegian national championship is won by double poling.

First prep race of the winter

This was a relatively informal affair moved from Vermont Academy to the Dublin School to take advantage of their snow making. It was a very crowded short loop (.8k), and teams fielded a mix of single gender and co-ed teams in the sprint relay. A fun time was had by all, and several teams stayed to ski until it was dark. Lucy's St. Paul's team had the top co-ed time ... I think.
