The British have a long history with Mount Everest, starting with the 1921 Reconnaissance, the I'll-fated Mallory-irvine attempt, the success in 1953, and then a variety of Bonnington expeditions ... However nothing in that history is as wacky and quirky as the 1933 solo attempt to fly to, and climb Mount Everest.
